Installation Notes:
The
M120's size was the perfect choice for this installation, since we were dealing with
limited transom mounting area like many bass boats tend to have. We used Bottom
Mounting Plates vs. the standard Transom Mounting Plates, since we decided to mount the
trim tabs to the hull step area. By installing
them in this fashion, they would be completely out of the water when at speed (no drag or
lost top end), but when coming out of the hole they would be in full effect and still have
list control capabilities when the seas or conditions call for corrections! The 10" span allows them to fit where a
standard 12" span tab may not or could interfere with the water flow to the prop. The short actuators (11-3/4" long) allow for
easy actuator placement on short transoms and routing the hydraulic lines through the
transom into the bilge area, which protects them from damage and makes the installation
much cleaner. The Hydraulic Power Unit on this
boat was mounted in the starboard side rear storage compartment. The Single Lever
Control was used instead of the standard Rocker Switch Control (no charge exchange) that
comes in the M120 Sport Tabs because of limited mounting space at the helm (requires the
smallest amount of area to install, 2 square).

Sea Trial Results:
"The trim tabs give the boat a great shallow water hole shot, even with a full tournament load. It gives the boat a stable dry ride, even under the roughest waves. I am very please with them and would highly recommend them to everyone wanting excellence performance with their boat."
