RS1000 ROCKER SWITCH

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR THE RS1000 ROCKER SWITCH ONLY.  THEY
DO NOT APPLY TO THE WATERPROOF ROCKER SWITCH CONTROLS (RSW1000 & LS3000).
CONTACT BENNETT MARINE IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHICH CONTROL YOU HAVE.

Tools and Materials List:

Electric Drill Phillips Head Screwdriver
3/16" Drill Bit 1/1/8" Hole Saw

Step 1 - Using the template included with the Rocker Switch Control, drill four 3/16" holes and follow with a 1-1/8" hole saw.   These holes must be 1-1/16" on center in both directions.  Evenly file the points marked "A" on the template until the switch goes comforably between them.  The distance between these points should never exceed 1-3/4".  We strongly suggest that this be tried on a practice piece of wood first.  Note: If an installation template is needed, contact Bennett Marine at (954) 427-1400 or e-mail trimtabs@earthlink.net.

An alternate way to mount your control is to cut a rectangular hole 1-3/4" W x 2-1/4" H.  This can be accomplished by drilling a 3/8" hole in the center of the area to be used.  This will allow access for a sabre saw blade.   Work the saw, being careful not to go beyond the 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" boundary.  Place the switch in the hole.  If the hole is still too tight, use a file to make adjustments.

Step 2 - Pull the wire harness through the hole and attach it to the control with the ring connectors enclosed.  There are two screws per letter; the wire can be attached to either screw fastening on the brass strip marked with the first letter of the color of that wire.* (See Figure 1).  All screws must be in place for proper functioning.

Step 3 - Place the switch and the wire harness back in the hole and mount the bezel with the screws enclosed.

*Wiring Colors:
Blue wire = Pump pressure (trim tabs down)
Yellow wire = Pump retract (trim tabs up)
Red wire = Port solenoid valve
Green wire = Starboard solenoid valve

If, after testing, something differnt from this normal action is preferred, with the above in mind, each control switch may be changed as desired.
