Installation Notes:

The M80 Sport Tabs are a perfect match for the Edgewater 185CC.  The 8" span (side to side) and 10" chord (fore to aft) produce the right amount of lift to enhance the performance characteristics of this Edgewater Center Console.    The tapered center section of the Trim Tab combined with the batwing cross section results in precise control at high speeds while still providing maximum lift at lower speeds. M80 Sport Tabs utilize short actuators that fit perfectly on the 185CC  transom.  I did have to notch my swim platform but was expected prior to installation.  With no exposed hoses or wires the result is a custom fit right out of the box.  The installation took 5 hours.

Why Bennett:
I did a significant amount of research on trim tabs on the Internet prior to purchasing my M80 Sport Tabs. .  Every website I visited, I found posts from Bennett Customer Service Manager Tom McGow.  His effort in providing outstanding customer service after the sale sold me on Bennett products.  The Bennett warranty is 2nd to none in the industry.

Sea Trial Results:
"I was impressed with the way my Edgewater handled rough water without tabs.  The reason I wanted to add trim tabs was to keep the bow down in a moderate chop in order to smooth out the ride.  The M80 Sport Tabs make the boat feel like it is 2' longer.  In addition to a smoother ride, being able to control list in a strong cross wind is much more beneficial that I had anticipated.  My maximum speed of 44mph (GPS)  remained the same but the boat is much more stable at higher speeds even with the tabs retracted.  I am now able to stay on plane at 15 mph compared to 21 mph pre-tabs.  I am a very satisfied Bennett Marine customer!"
